•River Phlegethon•.Simply stated, this beautiful, private vantage point of Whites Creek was bathed in orange light and honestly looked like a river of fire. The image really doesn't do it justice, but I feel comes pretty close..In Greek mythology, the river Phlegethon was one of the five rivers of the underworld (parallel to the river Styx) and was described by Plato as, "a stream of fire, which coils round the earth and flows into the depths of Tartarus." While this image may be a bit more toned down, the essence is the same..What we're viewing here is a panorama consisting of five horizontal images stitched together in Lightroom, with minimal processing of color, tone and light. My goal was to accurately portray the scene as it was experienced late that June evening under the full moon, ushering in summer 2016.. 2016-06-19 12:15AM️Nikon D750 ️Nikkor 24-70mm @ 24mm️ISO 100 ️f/2.8 ️25 sec
