•When Life Gives You Ducks, Make Confit•.Like many photographers in town during early September for the 35th Great Reno Balloon Race, I woke up hours before the crack of dawn and hauled my arse down to Rancho San Rafael in hope of securing a spot near water to capture a clean reflection of mass ascension in a reflecting pool..Sure, I got the spot, but wouldn't you know it, there were all these ducks in the pond splashing around, making ripples that totally nixed any possibility of crystal clear reflections atop calm, not so scummy pond water..Well…what am I to do?
