Well it wasn’t the sellout crowd Whitney Myer recently drew in … but K.Flay, Knowledge Lives Forever and Locus‘ performances at Cargo @ CommRow this past Saturday night drew in a select crowd of individuals which happened to include Whitney Myer.  Obviously she’s a fan of good music, because this was one of those performances where I caught myself rocking out while shooting, which could be a little dangerous seeing as how I’m usually holding something big and black, aka the Nikon D7000 + AF-S Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8G ED body and lens combination.  Nevertheless, I had a blast, K.Flay had a blast and everyone in the house had a blast as well.

Comparatively speaking, the oversized fanny pack tied tightly around my waist that evening, aka the Kata KT DW-495, didn’t propose as much of a difficulty while navigating from one side of the stage to the other as it did when there were something like 700 bodies crammed into Cargo during Ms. Myer’s performance earlier this month, which allowed for quick and effortless movement about the front of stage.  Seeing as how there’s no photo pit at this venue, the freedom to move about is seemingly directly related to how many people are in attendance that evening.  Hence a versatile selection of shots of our favorite female mc, performing an intimate and explosive set for a diehard group of fans, static electricity in her hair, blue stitching on her shoes and all.

During my time spent shooting this particular show, I found the following exposure settings on my beloved Nikon to be more than favorable.  The usable ISO settings ranged from 1600 all the way up to 6400 (yes, I do especially love this feature on the Nikon D7000), shutter speed ranging between 1/80th of a second and 1/320th of a second (mostly 1/250th of a second in suitable lighting) and a steady aperture of f/2.8, which is the widest allowable setting in my current lens selection.

There are over 70 photos in the full gallery (link below) and for the 1st time in history I am proud to announce that our loyal readers at IShootReno.com can now purchase high quality prints, delivered to their doorstep, just hours after this fantastic performance by K.Flay, Knowledge Lives Forever and Locus at Cargo @ CommRow!  Please send any feedback my direction and I hope you enjoy viewing these photos as much as I enjoyed snapping them!
