•••Surrender to the Brave Inside•••.Pretty sure I held my breath for the entire 80 seconds the shutter was open when making this exposure… .For anyone who's followed my journey through photography over the last 5 years, you've seen my best, and my worst (thank you to all who've stuck with me), and I feel are presently witnessing a reinvention of sorts..To make a long story short, in mid-late 2014, creativity slowed to a near-snail's pace for me and I lost any headway I had made in advancing my photography. Now I'm again at a place where I can feel the momentum picking up. I'm trying new things, meeting new people and ultimately pushing myself to reach the next level. I believe this image is a milestone representing where I've been and where I see myself headed. It was shot on a combination of new and vintage gear, using old methods in a fresh light, and taken within 100 yards of a photographer I'd inspired in the past, but is now helping fuel the next iteration of myself. I honestly feel like I've surrendered to the brave inside and have no fear of moving onward and upward. Thank you for joining me on this trip!. 2016-06-12 7:26PM️Nikon D750 ️Nikkor 24-70mm @ 42mm️ISO 100 ️f/22 ️80 sec️Singh-Ray 77mm Vari-ND Filter

•••A Brief Moment of Perfection•••.That feeling of catching a glimpse of something you know is but a fleeting moment and being able to share it with others….The story behind this flower is short and sweet. My mother-in-law and father-in-law grow a variety of roses at their place in Somersett at Del Webb and brought this little guy over to our place in late May as a gift, which we kept in a vase and watched as it opened to reveal this almost mathematical sequencing of spirals. Had my wife (@luvkittykatrina) not pointed out to me the progression and suggested I take a quick snap, I would've totally missed out on this simplistic, yet marvelous beauty. In addition to the spirals, I especially enjoy the unique "antique" base color and the "drops" of magenta found throughout, and have honestly never seen anything quite like it before..Can you help identify the variety? Thank you in advance!. 2016-05-22 4:46PM️Nikon D750 ️Nikkor 24-70mm @ 70mm️ISO 800 ️f/2.8 ️1/100 sec
