•I Lost Myself•.Thanking my lucky stars, I'm one of the few who have lost themselves in this life and have still made it back to the other side. Standing atop of mountains in the dark, hoping to capture a slice of the moment… this is what life had in store for me earlier this summer and I welcome the opportunity to do it again, and again, and again!.Using a low ISO for this shot, I was able to capture only the brightest stars against the dark sky and accentuate the low-lying clouds that were illuminated from the city lights of Carson Valley..Bonus: In the center of the image, just above the tree, one can make out just a faint whisper of the Northern tip of the Milky Way.. 2016-07-09 1:09AM️Nikon D750 ️Rokinon 14mm️ISO 100 ️f/2.8 ️30 sec

•Everything's So Hazy•.Well, I guess it wouldn't be summer in Northern Nevada without wildfire smoke coming in from the west and settling in the great basin..This was the first real haze I believe I'd experienced this year, as it came rolling in at the end of June. We've got more hanging around these days, coming up from Monterey county, and I honestly can't wait for it to go away and leave us with clean air to breathe whilst enjoying some fun in the sun..This is my first real experiment with using luminosity masking in PS CC, where a range of colors are selected and "painted" in from multiple exposures, thereby properly exposing each area of the image.
