•Keystone Grit•.There's no question that certain parts of this city that are grittier than others. To me, Keystone is right at the top..On this particular evening in mid-late July I got a lot of strange looks while shooting at this intersection, and grown men hollering obscenities from passenger windows; while several smiling passers by seemed to acknowledge that I was working to capture a stark and uncompromising perspective of our city with a smile and look of fascination..The experience as a whole, if anything, was equal parts life affirming and nerve wracking, as I was constantly looking over my shoulder, ready to grab my gear and bounce, yet really enjoyed not having to..Shop prints and more at link in bio.. 2016-07-22 9:23PM️Nikon D750 ️Rokinon 14mm️ISO 500 ️f/22 ️15.0 sec

•Yellow Leaves, Yellow Jackets•.In attempt to capitalize on having accomplished my educational goals for the weekend, I treated myself to taking a stab at capturing a little early autumn foliage in North Lake Tahoe..While driving a little slower than usual I spotted a few patches of Aspens that had begun to turn, and after pulling over and turning around 2 or 3 times, I found myself at the spot I was looking for, at just the right time. .I was pretty eager to start shooting, so over the wooden frame and into the dilapidated shack I went, speedily setting up for this 6 shot stacked panorama..What I hadn't initially noticed in my haste was that the location was SWARMING. Not with photographers, or seasonal gawkers. Oh no. This place was swarming with yellow jackets; and boy were they interested in me and my camera equipment..They were so interested in fact, that this shot almost didn't happen. Heck, this whole shoot almost went south, real quick as I jumped out the shack swatting at the bees buzzing my head and torso, cursing their perseverance..The next 15 minutes were a forced lesson in physically controlling one's own subconscious bodily functions, specifically heart rate, perspiration, adrenaline and pheromone release. .I couldn't let them smell my fear. If they did, I was toast. .That mild allergy to bee stings I vaguely remember having flashed through my mind a couple times while fighting the internal battle of whether to chill out and get the shot or pack it up and save my hide..Deep breathing, slow movements and a careful watch of where I was placing my hands got me through it safely without getting stung, even with one tenacious bugger having flown up the sleeve of my t-shirt..After all, I wasn't about to let these cretins ruin a perfectly good Saturday amidst some freshly turned Aspens..Shop prints and more at link in bio.. 2016-09-24 4:13PM️Nikon D750 ️Nikkor 24-70mm @ 24mm️Induro AT-213 Tripod ️Induro BHM2S Ballhead ️Sunwayfoto L Bracket️ISO 100 ️f/11.0 ️1/4 – 1/80 sec.
