•Bonsaaaaiiiiiiiii•.Whenever I think of the word bonsai, I always envision an (extra) large Japanese man cannonballing into a natural hot spring during late winter while the waves of his plop splash heavily over a carafe filled with the finest chilled sake set cautiously on the rocks. Looking around, one can see melting snow and young cherry blossoms in early bloom circling the perimeter, creating an impenetrable barrier between he and the rest of the world. This is nothing like that..After the profuse sweating from my undereducated hike down the roadside cliff subsided in the face of strong winds and dropping temps, I was feeling fairly confident in my choice of location for sunset this otherwise perfect evening in early July..In the moment, everything seemed to be in place: Waves were crashing, the sun was setting through the westward facing cracks in the vandalized yet still shockingly beautiful rock formation, and best of all, I was alive; breathing deep and drawing every possible particle of life into my lungs, high on both altitude and pine needles. My DNA was a discernible percentage Lake Tahoe. And then the shutter snapped seven times in a row….For anyone wishing to continue enjoying this image in the "real" (analog) world: I invite you to peruse fine art prints, greeting cards, phone cases and home decor — in my new store, via the link in my bio — thank you for your support!. 2016-07-09 8:10PM️Nikon D750 ️Nikkor 24-70mm @ 28mm️ISO 100 ️f/22 ️1/320 – 3 sec
